Prickly Pear Inn FAQ

Here are answers to some frequently asked questions from our guests.

Q. What is your cancellation policy?
A. Reservations must be canceled at least 72 hours, (3) full days, prior to the date of check-in or you will be charged for your entire stay. Changes to reservation or early departure will be treated as cancellations and follow this same policy.

Q. Why was my credit card charged the $50.00 non-refundable deposit twice after I made my reservation?
A. Guests will only be charged $50.00 total deposit (per room) which will be credited to the outstanding balance at the time of check-in. Please note that your bank may run a credit card authorization at the time of reservation and this authorization may show up on your online banking statement. It is, however, only an authorization and you will only be charged the $50.00 non-refundable deposit after your reservation has been confirmed.

Q. Is the lobby open 24 hours a day?
A. Prickly Pear Inn is a small boutique hotel and does not staff the front desk 24 hours a day. If you will be arriving after 6:00 pm please contact us via phone or email so we can make arrangements for After-Hours Check-in using our onsite Lock Box.

Q. Where can I find an After-Hours Phone Number?
A. After-Hours Emergency Phone Numbers are posted on the 2nd Floor walls just outside the elevator and next to Room 203.

Q. Do you have an elevator?
A. Absolutely. All the rooms are located on the 2nd level of the property which can be accessed via the elevator or from the (3) stairways leading to the second level.

Q. Do you have covered parking?
A. Yes. Prickly Pear Inn has a very large underground parking structure with free parking. Please note underground parking has a 7 foot limit.

Q. Do you allow pets?
A. NO. Though we truly love dogs, as a small boutique hotel we simply do not have the resources to properly sanitize and completely eliminate pet allergens between guest stays. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Q. Do you charge a Resort Fee or any additional charges other than lodging and tax?
A. NO. We have absolutely no hidden or additional fees. When comparing hotel rates in the area, please consider this important fact as resort and parking fees can greatly add to the cost of your stay at other hotels.

Q. Does Prickly Pear Inn offer daily housekeeping?
A. No. Guests can still exchange towels or replenish room amenities by calling the front desk during lobby hours.

Q. Does Prickly Pear Inn have a pool or hot tub?
A. No. We are a small boutique hotel located within walking distance to many restaurants, bars, shopping and activities. However, we are not a full-service resort. We would be happy to direct you to local gyms with workout facilities and outdoor pool facilities.

Q. Do you offer military discounts?
A. Yes. We offer a 10% discount for Active & Retired Military Personnel with proper ID and we sincerely thank you for your service.

Q. Do you offer any discounts like AAA, AARP, COSTCO, etc.?
A. No. We are a small boutique hotel and we have made every effort to keep our prices fair and in line with the quality of our hotel and the amenities we offer.

Q. Do you have a business center or a meeting room?
A. We do not have a business center or meeting room. However, Desert Foothills Library, just up the hill from us, has meeting rooms available to reserve. They are located at 38443 N. School House Road and can be reached at (480) 488-2286.

Q. Do all your rooms have a kitchenette unit?
A. Yes. All rooms have fully equipped kitchenette units with cooktop, microwave, refrigerator, freezer, toaster, Keurig Coffee Maker and all accessories.

Q. Do all of your rooms have a patio or deck?
A. Rooms 203-209 all have large patio decks, many of them with views of the surrounding mountains. Rooms 201-202 -210 and 211 do not have their own private decks. However, all guests have access to a large, private, covered patio deck that is set up with lovely outdoor furniture.

Q. How can I block a set of rooms?
A. As a small hotel we are greatly affected by cancellations. Therefore, we require a 50% non-Refundable Deposit to reserve (4) Rooms or more with the balance due (30) days before the date of check-in.

Q. Can I reserve all (11) rooms?
A. Yes. Please refer to the answer above.

Q. Do you have smoking rooms?
A. No. Smoking is not permitted in the rooms or common areas.

Q. Do you have connecting rooms?
A. No. However, Rooms 204, 205, 206, and 207 each have large patio decks divided by private gates. Should each respective neighbor choose to unlatch the gate from their deck they would then be able to walk freely from deck to deck.

Q. Do you have rollaway beds and cribs?
A. No. Though we are not an adults-only hotel, Prickly Pear Inn has been designed for adults and we do not provide rollaway beds or cribs.

Q. Do you have cable TV in the rooms?
A. Yes. We offer free cable TV and free HBO channels in our rooms along with 60"-65" televisions.

Q. Do you sell Gift Cards?
A. Yes. You can purchase online.

Q. Do you offer monthly or long-term rentals?
A. Yes, depending upon the room and time of year. For more information please contact us via email or call our reservations line at (480) 488-2616.

Q. Do you offer a Shuttle Service to or from the airport?
A. No, if you are not renting a car at the airport Uber and Lyft drivers can be located via the specific app.

Q. Does Prickly Pear Inn have a restaurant?
A. Stumblina’s Cantina is on the grounds of Prickly Pear Plaza. This western-style restaurant has quickly become a town favorite and is open 7 days a week. For more details please visit:
